At the Pool 9 Premier Billiards tournament on January 18, the former world No. 1 player caused a stir in the arena with a clearing of the table that took just over 1 minute.
Satisfied with the 72-second ‘clearing the table’ phase of the former world No 1 player
On February 18, former world player Shane van Boening (currently number 4 in the world) had his opening match with fifth player Max Lechner (Austria) at the Pool 9 Premier Billiards tournament.
Entering the match, the American player had a good start with the first muscle when up to 5 balls fell into the hole. Next, he quickly dealt with the remaining marbles with a total time of 72 seconds. In the end, Shane van Boening had a victory over Max Lencher with a score of 5 -1.
With what has been shown on the first day of competition, the entire Honda Racing Vietnam team hopes that “Crazy Guy” will again take a place in the top 10 in as it did at Sepang at the end of February. And remember one thing: “Crazy Guy” is always more dangerous on day 2.
Entering the second day of competition, the technical problem on Cao Vietnam’s Honda CBR250RR has been handled, in the Warm Up section on Sunday morning, he said the car was in stable operation. However, when the personal issue was handled, the general difficulty appeared when the weather at The Bend on Sunday morning was colder and the wind was stronger, right at the morning test session, there were 3 riders who fell.
With the weather becoming colder and murky as well as causing the racers to fall, right from the starting line, no driver made an impression. Cao Viet, when at the starting line, jumped up to take the 14th position and tried to maintain until the 5th corner, he overtook one more driver and ranked 13th.
From the 2nd lap, the gap between Cao Viet and 12 riders gradually widened, until the 7th lap, only “Crazy Guy” and Thai driver Patchaeetron (No. 86) competed for the No. 13 and almost gave up hope of being able to chase the top riders above. Until the end of the match, driver No. 86 could not create enough pressure for Cao Vietnam despite following closely. “Crazy Guy” finished in 13/24 place, gaining 3 points.
The second day of competition can be considered as a competition day only at the level of Cao Vietnam, not only him but also all the drivers left no impression, after the second lap the race was almost over. into a duel of pure engine power. This result was a bit disappointing for “Crazy Guy” because he and the team had high hopes for this 2nd day of running.
However, the 8 points achieved in this round is also an achievement that can make the team temporarily satisfied. Currently on the rankings after stage 2, Cao Vietnam is in 12th/27th place with 18 points, and Honda Racing Vietnam team is 7th/15th in AP250 category.
The third leg of the 2019 ARRC season will take place in Thailand at the end of May at Chang International racetrack, which is always considered the home ground of Honda Racing Vietnam. In this next leg, we will welcome the return of the UB150 category.
