Before the International Basketball Federation made the decision, the president of the Ukrainian Basketball Federation – Mr. Mykhailo Brodskyi called for a ban on the participation of national teams and clubs of the Russian Federation in all competitions. FIBA contest.

We are confident that the representatives of the country that brought the fight to Europe will have no place in any international sports competition. We urge FIBA to completely ban the participation of national and club teams of the Russian Federation in all competitions under the auspices of FIBA and FIBA Europe.

And we ask all European basketball clubs and national teams to unite with the Ukrainian people and absolutely not organize basketball matches with Russian clubs and national teams. A country that has declared war has no place in the international sports community.”
