Building on the brand’s principle of duality, the campaign is like an exploration of each individual’s distinct identity. Studio shots for the womenswear collection and authentic outdoor shots for the menswear collection combine to bring together Burberry’s unique expression of personality, opening a fresh look at the future
Burberry’s creative director Riccardo Tisci has teamed up with photographer duo and brand friends Inez and Vinoodh to embody an avant-garde spirit unmatched in the British fashion house. The campaign’s stylist, Lotta Volkova, brings a new definition and perspective to the sensibilities expressed throughout the collection.
To reinvent the heritage, the brand chose a more playful angle when reinterpreting traditional designs. The famous trench coat is transformed into a wide strapless dress with distinctive details, while the car coat comes alive with chain-link.
For the women’s collection, field jackets are complemented by a floral lace corset, which is super feminine in candy pink and red. They are perfect to mix & match with pleated skirts, leather bodysuits, and skirts. The Lola bag is also featured in a campaign to celebrate the heritage of the brand and its founder Thomas Burberry.
For men’s wear, the dark hooded duffle coat is refreshed with leather straps and exaggerated hemlines. While custom high-waisted pants go with a polo shirt or cotton poplin shirt and a diamond-patterned tulle skirt.
In a fresh reinterpretation of Equestrian Knight Design – a symbol of the brand’s community spirit revived from Burberry’s legacy and highlighted throughout its collections – the campaign features members of The Compton Cowboys, an LA-based nonprofit owned by Blacks. As part of a partnership.
