Every Canadian working pays taxes. Part of those tax dollars automatically goes towards Healthcare. No opting out, no complaining because one day we may need care. Proud to be Canadian and those taxes also pay for the longest highways in the world loaded with the most snow… for the free schooling of our kids… for a great Quality of Life even though most of us freeze our butts for a few months per year.. I hold dual residency and I chose to live in the land of Santa… well, your country is led by a sane person. It makes a big difference, believe me.

Seriously, I’m glad things are going better for you guys up there. we pay taxes too but the Republican Party in the US could care less about our health care ( see the Covid-19cases soaring?!) so our taxes go for big tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires! I don’t mind paying my taxes but I’d like to see more Americans benefit from them. Yay for Canada! we dont need those types of masks as we dont have 10,000 cases per day in any of our Provinces. We wear regular masks as a precautionary measure for our elderly and those who have a compromise immune system. We also don’t require people to wear a masks in all commercial locations for now but that may change… but to be honest we wear them regardless if the store asks us to or not.  your right. I’m willing to pay higher taxes for healthcare even when I don’t need it.
