Cartier launches new panthère jewelry designs
In 2022, Cartier’s Panthère roars next, in new jewelry creations. Each Panthère de Cartier design is a true sculpture. Particularly resilient, the necklaces and bracelets can be opened without revealing the hinges.
Cartier has developed a system of secrecy that makes the Panthère de Cartier jewels more magical than ever. These artifacts gracefully hug the body, thanks to their magnetic design and curves, like the panther pantheon. In the collection, Cartier brings an intimate conversation between the designer and the owner.
Through the Panthère collection, Cartier celebrates minimalist jewelry creations in its clean lines and refined design. The timeless minimalism is reflected in the golden gold bracelet, with octagonal lacquered spots, emulating the beauty of a jaguar. It could also be a diamond bracelet, studded with delicate onyx notes.
The slim, curved design of the Panthère de Cartier necklace and bracelet originates from the two leopard heads, sculpted with emerald eyes or tsavorite garnet (dark green garnet).
Articulated necklaces and bracelets from the Panthère de Cartier 2022 collection come to life, moving smoothly across the body thanks to a combination of two different parts, crisscrossed with two golden blades. These two blades are linked to the spring placed at the top of the leopard. This is a real challenge to the craftsmanship of the Cartier artisans because, at the same time, they have to keep the leopard’s spots intact.
In diamond-encrusted versions of jewelry, the surface finish also includes artisans wrapping each stone with small metal beads to hold them in place. Next, to complete the outer layer like leopard fur, skilled Cartier artisans skillfully cut around the onyx stone, creating a smooth, fur-like effect.
The Panthère has been Cartier’s legacy, ever since it appeared on the brand’s watches in 1914. Three years later, in 1917, the Panthère perfectly embodied, engraved by Louis Cartier with cypress, on his gift box. dedicated to Jeanne Toussaint. That is the beginning of the story of symbiosis between The Panthère and the muse Jeanne Toussaint.
Two years later, she again ordered a case made of black Canton gold and enamel, engraved with the panther Panthère. The woman at the head of the Toussaint family made the Panthère a personal icon.
With a unique personality and foresight, in 1948, Toussaint transformed Panthère into a living, three-dimensional creature. Since then, the Panthère has become the chronicle of Cartier.
