Joining hands with Dior, Jimin is the first BTS member to become a global ambassador of an international brand after starting a solo career.
Dior chooses Jimin (BTS) as the global ambassador
In just one week in the beginning of 2023, the name Jimin (BTS) has caused a global media fever twice. For the first time, it was appearing in MV Vibe with senior Taeyang (BIGBANG). The unexpected combination of both the top idols of the Kpop Gen 2 and Gen 3 groups made the fans unable to believe their eyes. And the second time was when the high-end fashion brand Dior announced to choice of BTS member as its global ambassador.

The relationship between Dior and BTS dates back to 2019, when Dior’s menswear creative director, Kim Jones, designed the group’s costumes for the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour.
With global success, BTS has been chosen as an ambassador for many brands such as McDonald’s, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Gojek, and Louis Vuitton. The signing with Louis Vuitton also marks the first time the boy band has become an ambassador for a global luxury fashion brand. As an individual Dior global ambassador, Jimin shows that each BTS member is capable of achieving new successes even if they are not active together. He is also the first BTS member to sign an official ambassador contract with an international brand.
Besides Jimin, BTS’ ARMY fan group caught SUGA wearing a Valentino tree to the Lakers basketball game. Meanwhile, j-hope will be at the upcoming Louis Vuitton Men show. It is unclear if the other members will choose the ambassador job like Jimin.
