When creative director Virginie Viard introduced the Chanel Spring Summer 2023 collection at the Grand Palais Éphémère, the front row could not be without two close female ambassadors of the French fashion house, Kristen Stewart and Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK.

The two female ambassadors had a friendly conversation while sitting in the front row. Kristen Stewart donned a grunge look with a plaid jumper, a mini skirt, shiny leather boots, and chain jewelry. Since confirming the gender, actress Spencer has no longer preferred too feminine fashion.
Meanwhile, in contrast to Kristen Stewart, BLACKPINK’s Jennie is feminine with a terry cloth dress from the Chanel Resort 2023 BST. Jennie’s nails are painted with color blocks with colors from her own dress.
The asymmetrical style is the main highlight of Jennie’s outfit: an off-shoulder dress, and one-sided earrings. Even Chanel’s iconic white camellia hair was tied to one side. Jennie’s trendy appearance made fans admire her and also immediately reached the top trend on social networks.
This year Kristen Stewart plays a bigger role than the front-row guest. She was also featured in the opening video to introduce the collection, filmed by Inez & Vinoodh. The short film, written by Kristen herself, is about the topic of defining personality – a topic that has long been a pain in the heart of the actress.
“It’s important that you burn out the best version of you the day before so that you can restart each day,” the film’s opening quote reads.
Talking about the inspiration behind the film, Kristen said, “We are allowed to change and evolve and become a better version of ourselves, so I think it’s important not to get too cocky about ourselves. Because the world changes every day.”
In the film, a black-and-white version of Kristen Stewart is closely followed by the paparazzi. This image depicts the life of a scandalous Hollywood star. If you don’t improve yourself, someone else will “improve” for you. Those are the tabloid magazines that always give disparage.
Kristen Stewart herself was a victim growing up being scrutinized. “When I was little, everyone said, ‘Why are you so boyish,'” she recalls. “It’s been a tough time for women, so judgmental, so rigid. Now I feel freer.”
Jennie BLACKPINK admits she’s a bit tired from jetlag. She was on the way to promoting the new album BORN PINK, so it took her 36 hours to go to Paris to attend this Chanel show.
“I think everyone would agree that constantly jumping is too tiring…but I always feel lucky every time I set foot in Paris,” the singer said of her schedule. What about the outfit you’re wearing? “I like to dress up in a variety of styles, but mostly like being comfortable when I’m tired.” Therefore, Chanel’s cotton terry dress is rough, warm, and very suitable for Jennie’s taste this time.
Attending the Chanel show, the singer said that she loved the show’s setting, especially the space full of black and white film photos. Mainly because Jennie idolizes Kristen Stewart – she shared this information in another Chanel show – so meeting the idol again as well as sitting next to the actress in the front row made Jennie happy. “Kristen was sitting right next to me, it was magical,” she said.
“Fashion Week always inspires me. I try to see different sides. For my career, I have no restrictions. We always shape ourselves to best suit the song. Everything has to be in harmony.”
