One year has passed since the Menswear Spring Summer 2022 collection, when Silvia Fendi opened a new step for men’s fashion with a crop top suit design. At this Menswear Spring/Summer 2023 collection, Fendi brings to the runway simple designs with the crowning of denim, loafers, tassel motifs and a bright color palette.
This year, the summer breeze has enveloped the runways at Milan Fashion Week and Fendi’s new collection is no exception. Under Silvia’s hands, Fendi has expressed a free spirit of men through denim, shirt, blazer. Accompanied by earth tones, beige and blue as the main color. The collection is like a ticket to lead viewers to discover costumes around the world.
The Fendi Menswear Spring Summer 2023 collection offers designs with a fresh, comfortable feel, mixed with a bit of bohemianism with sophisticated accents. When designing menswear, Silvia Venturini Fendi likes to apply contrast but must be in harmony. The designer thinks that will bring a balance between diverse elements but still ensure simplicity.
“We are slowly returning to our daily lives and regaining control of our time. So this is a collection dedicated to free time. We discovered that was the time we used to hone ourselves and our interests.” Venturini Fendi shared before the show.
Denim has appeared at the Fendi Menswear Spring Summer 2023 collection in a new and sophisticated way. As can be seen at look 10, the jacket with blue borders is done with dyed yarn strips. While the soft patch pocket shirt in look 34 is handcrafted from mink fur.
The part that looked like khaki cotton turned out to be super thin nappa leather. Loose pants, Bermuda pants, oversized shirts and even a Fendi Baguette bag are all handcrafted from tattered denim. Venturini Fendi said:
Besides, there are designs with dairy cow motifs with large spread along with warm earth tones. Elegant style was introduced by Fendi through blazers worn over shirts. Or the sexier version – without the shirt lining. There are also masculine designs in black. Such as woolen tank-tops, trompe l’oeil overalls and flared leather trousers.
Notably is the look 27 design, a design that breaks Fendi’s gender barrier with a smoky shirt that reaches past the calf, the highlight at the open shoulder part is worn with sneakers. Most of the designs are inspired by the workwear and Cali skates of the 90s.
The fashion house’s signature monogram motif still plays an important part throughout the Fendi Menswear Spring Summer 2023 collection. From chunky loafers, outfits to neck bags.
For the Menswear Spring Summer 2023 collection, Fendi applied tassels to many designs. Expressed through coats, bags and even loafers. The beige-earth-blue and black palette reflects images of the land, sky and sea. Fendi has successfully delivered a strong summer sensation. A collection that converges enough elements to attract free souls.
Jewelry includes Delfina Delettrez Fendi nugget necklaces, friendship bracelets and watches. There is also a bag made of recycled mesh plastic with a removable lining. Moccasin low-heeled loafers are one of the main characters of the collection. There are also skate-style sneakers, beaded by hand. Bucket hats with a variety of designs are also “released” by Fendi. And indispensable scarves bearing the brand’s signature logo.
